The European Commission fines Apple and Meta
The European Union imposed fines totaling €700 million on Apple and Meta on Wednesday for violating digital competition rules within the bloc.
The European Commission levied a fine of €500 million on Apple for unfair terms in its app store that impact app developers and their customers.
The same commission also fined Meta €200 million for violating laws related to the use of personal data.
