Four people were killed yesterday, Sunday, when a small single-engine plane crashed in a rural area in central Illinois, USA.
Coroner Ed Schnier confirmed that the victims included two women and two men, adding that their names would not be released until their families had been notified. The National Transportation Safety Board stated in a release that the plane, a Cessna C180G, went down around 10:00 AM local time (3:00 PM GMT). Preliminary information suggests that the aircraft struck power lines before crashing.
Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker described the incident as “tragic,” assuring that developments in the ongoing investigation are being closely monitored to uncover the circumstances and causes surrounding the crash.
