The Agadir Security Directorate has firmly denied the accuracy of posts and audio recordings circulating on instant messaging applications on Wednesday, April 30, which claimed the existence of a criminal gang kidnapping children using a car in Agadir and its outskirts.

The authorities clarified that the police immediately undertook a comprehensive review of the available data and records, confirming that no complaints or reports regarding kidnapping incidents matching the claims had been registered, nor any cases of missing minors with criminal backgrounds.

Additionally, they stated that the circulated information lacks credibility and constitutes false news that could undermine citizens’ sense of security.

They indicated that investigations are currently underway under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, to identify the source of these false allegations and reveal those involved in promoting them, with the aim of taking necessary legal actions against them.
