Six people died on Friday after a small plane belonging to the Thai police crashed into the sea near a coastal town.
According to Thai police spokesperson, Archaion Kraithong, the aircraft was conducting a test flight in preparation for parachute training in the Hua Hin area when it crashed around 8 a.m. local time.
Archaion added that “the six individuals on board were police officers; five of them died at the scene, and one succumbed to injuries later in the hospital.”
The public relations department of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province indicated that the plane went down near Hua Hin Airport.
Images showed that the aircraft, whose crash circumstances remain unclear, fell into the sea approximately 100 meters from the shore.
