Production of Silver in Morocco Increases by 192%

Recent data revealed that “Aya Gold & Silver,” a company focused on investing in the gold and silver exploration sector in Morocco, achieved a production of 1.07 million ounces during the first quarter of 2025, marking a 192% increase compared to the same period in 2024, when the production did not exceed 366,362 tons.

The Canadian company, operating the Boumadine mine in Drâa-Tafilalet and the Zgounder mine near Taroudant, proudly announced, “We produced 1.07 million ounces of silver during the first quarter of 2025 from our Zgounder silver mine located in the Kingdom of Morocco.”

According to the data provided by the aforementioned company in a statement reviewed by Hespress, the amount processed during the same period this year reached 249,743 tons, compared to 81,331 tons for the same period last year, an increase of 207%.

The statement quoted Benoit Lasalle, CEO of “Aya Gold & Silver,” saying: “I am pleased to announce a strong performance for the first quarter of 2025, where our production exceeded one million ounces of silver at the Zgounder mine,” noting that “this comes just three months after announcing the commencement of commercial production on December 29, 2024.”

Lasalle added, “It was a record quarter, supported by strong production and silver sales at an average price exceeding $32 per ounce,” pointing out that “mining rates are steadily increasing according to our plan. We are well-positioned for strong growth and outstanding performance in the second half of 2025.”
