Security detains a person in Casablanca after physical assault on passersby and damage to vehicles
The National Security forces in Casablanca, under the instructions of the competent public prosecutor, began on the evening of Monday, April 14, the process of admitting a person exhibiting signs of mental disorder to a mental health hospital, due to threats posed to public order and endangering the safety of individuals and property.
Security forces detained the suspect after he physically assaulted four passersby with a blunt object, causing injuries that required their transfer to the hospital for necessary medical treatment. He also inflicted material damage on three parked vehicles on the public street.
The immediate intervention of the police led to the arrest of the individual, who preliminary investigations revealed to be in an abnormal state and in a condition of heightened agitation. This prompted his admission to a mental health hospital by order of the public prosecutor, to undergo medical evaluation to ascertain his mental and psychological condition.
