Nadia Fettah Reveals Government Strategy to Protect the Purchasing Power of Moroccans

The Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah, linked rising prices in Morocco to successive global crises, stressing that the Kingdom was not insulated from the transformations witnessed in international markets, which have directly and indirectly impacted it.
Despite these challenging circumstances, the minister emphasized in her response during a session in the House of Representatives, to a question posed by MP Fatima Kachouti from the Movement Group, regarding governmental measures taken to protect purchasing power and alleviate the financial burden on Moroccan families amid rising indebtedness, that Morocco has been able, thanks to the guidance of King Mohammed VI and the efforts made by the government, to manage this crisis and mitigate its effects on citizens’ purchasing power.
The minister highlighted that recent years have seen a succession of global crises that have led to profound imbalances in production and distribution chains, especially concerning energy and food supplies, exacerbating inflationary pressures affecting most countries around the world.
Nadia Fettah considered that enhancing citizens’ purchasing power is a fundamental pillar for supporting domestic demand and stimulating national economic growth, a direction the government is committed to with seriousness and responsibility.
In this context, she pointed out that the government has adopted a series of practical measures, alongside major social programs launched, aimed at mitigating the social and economic impacts of inflation and drought, while activating commitments to social dialogue aimed at strengthening the democratic process and solidifying social peace.
