Express TV: Mustafa Filali

Today, the Kingdom of Morocco and the African Union Commission launched the fourth session of the training program for election observers in the African continent in Rabat. Nasser Bouriita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, spoke about “Rabat’s commitment to supporting African peace.”

In his address, Bouriita stated that this session “once again reflects Morocco’s commitment to African peace and security and the pursuit of enhancing comprehensive governance through this program.”

The Minister highlighted that the context of this session “comes at a time of significant electoral milestones globally and continentally; thus, it is highly important to have observers who contribute to stability and comprehensive governance.”

Bouriita also discussed the aim this year to “enhance the roles of women through this program in Africa regarding election monitoring,” reminding attendees of “Rabat’s efforts in this regard both nationally and internationally.”

He added, “This session also translates the promises of its predecessor by opening the field to the largest number of beneficiaries, reaching 120 individuals from various countries; this reflects the existing diversity.”

The government official drew attention to the “ambition to enhance election monitoring in Africa by equipping it with highly qualified graduates,” noting that “previous graduates have indeed demonstrated great capabilities in promoting security, peace, and governance.”

The speaker emphasized that Morocco’s engagement in this initiative is part of “King Mohammed VI’s efforts to maintain security and peace on the African continent for the benefit of its peoples.”
