Today, Monday, a series of agreements were signed in Marrakech among various government entities, led by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, as part of the third edition of the “GITEX Africa” exhibition.
The ministry, headed by Amal Filah Saghrouchni, has entered into a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation, as well as the Ministry of Economy and Finance, alongside the Guelmim-Oued Noun Regional Council.
According to official statements, this agreement aims to “establish specialized institutes and centers for training in the fields of artificial intelligence and digitization, with the intention of expanding these facilities in the future across various regions of the kingdom.”
Filah Saghrouchni stated to Hespress: “This is the first signing of an agreement during this exhibition, with an additional 11 agreements to be signed on the same topic later.” She emphasized that they are developing a specific concept for another agreement that will relate to attracting talent from abroad.
The minister added, “Guelmim-Oued Noun is the first region concerned with this initiative and these agreements. Therefore, we signed an agreement today in the presence of the chairwoman of the regional council, alongside the Minister of Economy and Finance and the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation.” She mentioned that “this experience will be generalized to all regions of the kingdom until we reach ’12 +1′, meaning one agreement for each region, in addition to an agreement targeting the recruitment of Moroccan talents living abroad.”
The Minister of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform noted that “the institutes will be dedicated to innovation and topics specifically related to digitization and artificial intelligence.” She also took the opportunity to emphasize that “this year’s exhibition focused on digitization, which is very important for economic and social development, as well as on artificial intelligence as a new player in the field,” concluding with: “This type of technology will enable us to achieve a qualitative leap in technological and social advancement.”
