Arsenal’s management is keeping a close eye on Bilal El Khannous and is considering making a formal offer.
The Moroccan international has caught the attention of the English club as it seeks to strengthen its midfield ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, taking advantage of the player’s situation at Leicester City following the confirmed relegation of the “Foxes” to the EFL Championship.
According to media reports, Arsenal is closely monitoring El Khannous and is studying the possibility of submitting an official bid that could reach €35 million in order to secure his services before other clubs enter the race.
El Khannous’s market value is within Arsenal’s reach, especially since he joined Leicester City last summer from Genk for £21 million. Furthermore, the club’s relegation opens the door for a potential departure, given the existence of a clause enabling him to terminate his contract during the forthcoming transfer window.
El Khannous is contracted until the summer of 2028, but his desire to continue playing at a high level could hasten his exit from Leicester, particularly as he has played 28 matches in the Premier League this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists, which reflects his rapid development in the league at just 20 years old.
