The National Carbon Removal Caravan Arrives in Dakhla
Recently, the National Carbon Removal Caravan, launched by the Moroccan Confederation of Exporters (ASMEX), has made its way to Dakhla, aiming to transform this region into a hub for clean, competitive, and sovereign export manufacturing.
By supporting Dakhla’s station for this caravan, various local and international companies and organizations have confirmed that carbon removal has now become a shared lever for competitiveness, sovereignty, and value creation.
Companies pointed out that Dakhla, with its exceptional natural resources and growing entrepreneurial ecosystem, has all the necessary elements to become a national and African front for this collective ambition.
In a speech delivered on behalf of the President of the Moroccan Confederation of Exporters, Hassan Sentisi, Mr. Loïc Jaeger-Hubert, President of ENGIE Morocco and Chair of the Clean Energy Committee at the confederation, stated that “carbon removal is not a barrier, but represents the pathway to greater independence, added value, and attractiveness.”
This structural project aligns perfectly with the visionary outlook of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, aimed at achieving sustainable and equitable development while looking toward the future.
In addition to ENGIE Morocco, this event brought together a wide range of institutional partners and the private sector, reflecting the Moroccan Confederation of Exporters’ capacity to mobilize a rich and integrated ecosystem.
Participants in this station included the Regional Investment Center of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of the region, the “Tamwilkom” foundation, a key player in supporting business financing, and “Bureau Veritas,” an international reference in the accreditation field, along with “Solar Power,” an integrated player active within the entire energy project chain.
All these partners expressed their commitment alongside Moroccan exporters to establish projects with a strong environmental and economic impact.
The Moroccan Confederation of Exporters will continue its Carbon Removal Caravan to enhance awareness, mobilization, and support for exporting companies during this critical transition.
It also affirms its role as a strategic bridge between international investors and Morocco’s regional potentials, particularly in the southern regions of the kingdom, which serve as a strategic crossroads between Europe, Africa, and the Americas.
