A chemical leak caused cases of suffocation at the “Leoni” factory in Bouskoura

On Tuesday, May 27, the industrial area of Bouskoura witnessed a chemical leak from a nearby facility specializing in feed production, leading to a limited number of suffocation cases among workers at the Leoni factory, which specializes in cable manufacturing.

The leak resulted in several workers and staff experiencing suffocation, prompting a swift intervention from regional authorities and health services, who rushed to the scene to provide necessary first aid to the affected individuals.

In this context, Leoni’s management issued a statement confirming the activation of emergency measures by mobilizing human resources and occupational health and safety teams, emphasizing that the safety and health of employees is a top priority for the company.

The company clarified that it is continuing to coordinate with the relevant authorities to ensure safe working conditions within the factory and to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future.
