Barcelona Extends Contract of German Coach Hans Flick Until 2027
The Spanish club Barcelona, reigning champions of the current 2024-2025 season, announced the extension of German coach Hans Flick’s contract until the summer of 2027. This decision follows Flick’s successful leadership in guiding the team to a domestic treble, clinching the league title, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup.
The club confirmed, in a statement via its official account on Wednesday, that they reached an agreement with the 59-year-old coach to extend his contract until 2027, in recognition of his exceptional performance and for returning the team to winning form.
Flick led Barcelona to a historic 28th La Liga title, surpassing their rivals Real Madrid, who hold the record with 36 titles, and reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League before being eliminated by Inter Milan.
It is noteworthy that Barcelona secured the La Liga title after defeating Espanyol 2-0 in the 36th round of the tournament, just two matches before the season’s conclusion.
