Gerando… A hired clown practicing media pimping to serve Morocco’s enemies
Hicham Gerando is no longer just a YouTuber or digital activist; he has become an exposed tool in the hands of hostile entities working to destabilize Morocco from the outside. His actions on his platform “Challenge” cannot be classified as freedom of expression or even bold criticism; instead, they fall within the realm of incitement, defamation, and direct collaboration with schemes targeting the national security of the Kingdom. He has chosen the role of an attacker, not out of conviction or principle, but as part of precisely plotted roles by parties that do not hide their animosity towards Morocco and seek local fronts to implement their agenda with a narrative that appears regional but conceals their true intentions.
His method of content dissemination reveals much about his background. His narratives are ready-to-use, changing in tone based on the nature of the directives. They superficially wrap themselves in claims of investigative journalism but lack any professional standards. There are no reliable sources, no fact-checking, just distorted stories, targeted names, and accusations made without evidence. More dangerously, he targets specific individuals within Moroccan security agencies, disclosing their personal information, attempting to tarnish their reputations, and placing their lives in jeopardy, in clear violation of both local and international laws.
The man has no fixed stances; he fluctuates with the winds. He attacks Jews in the name of religion and then employs them when the signal changes. He exploits the Palestinian issue when it serves his interests, then completely ignores it when it contradicts the agendas of the entities manipulating him. He shamelessly glorifies groups classified by countries around the world as sources of chaos and does not hesitate to spread hate speech whenever it aids in misleading his followers or gathering sympathy for his nihilistic discourse. He dons the cloak of human rights advocacy but does not hesitate to breach its most basic rules when targeting individuals based on their profession, beliefs, or affiliations with official institutions.
His digital platform has become a breeding ground for chaos. Instead of being a space for discussion, it has transformed into a virtual arena for spreading lies, settling scores, and targeting constants. He does not appeal to reason but plays on feelings of anger, capitalizes on ignorance, and feeds off conspiracy rhetoric. He sows doubt in all institutions, speaks of the state as if it were an enemy, and inflates every minor tension to fabricate a crisis. He strives tirelessly to dismantle trust between the citizen and their homeland, not for an internal reason or personal experience, as he claims, but to serve an agenda that wants him to remain on the offensive, as he has simply become one of its Arabic-speaking tools.
The Canadian laws he seeks refuge under will not protect him for long. His public incitement, exposure of legally protected information, and dissemination of hate-promoting content put him at risk of accountability, especially with the growing international focus on holding purveyors of digital violence accountable. International law also does not recognize freedom of expression when it becomes a direct threat to the lives of individuals or the stability of nations. His actions place him in the category of transnational criminals, and he knows full well that continuing down this path will eventually open doors to accountability sooner or later.
Gerando is no longer just an individual case. He is a model of a funded digital agent acting a specific role: undermining sovereignty, casting doubt on institutions, and fueling conflicts. But the problem lies not just in him but in those who use him, fund him, and send him messages from behind the curtain. Observers of his trajectory will notice the coincidence of his content with hostile propaganda campaigns, affirming that he does not operate in isolation from a larger system aiming to target Morocco from abroad, having failed to penetrate it from within.
Playing with fire has its costs, and Gerando is quickly approaching his end. The line he has chosen does not lead to “change,” as he deceives his audience, but rather to isolation, downfall, and legal retribution. The Morocco he attempts to stab does not crumble before YouTube recordings; it possesses fortified institutions and a reservoir of stability that no hired horns can topple. What he fails to understand or ignores is that everything he broadcasts today will tomorrow become a legal file that will pursue him wherever he goes. Because, simply put, he has never been an opponent; he is just an agent executing orders and waiting for a reward.
