Renaissance Berkane triumphs over Simba in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final

Renaissance Berkane defeated Tanzanian guests Simba 2-0 in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final, held at the municipal stadium in Berkane.

The Berkane team entered the match with intensity, managing to open the scoring early through Lamine Camara in the eighth minute following sustained offensive pressure.

The home side didn’t have to wait long to add a second goal, as Osama Al-Miliwi succeeded in doubling the score in the 13th minute, ending the first half with Berkane leading 2-0.

In the second half, the Berkane players continued to control the game’s proceedings, and Youssef Mehri scored a third goal in the 60th minute, but the referee disallowed it for offside after consulting the VAR. The match concluded with the Tunisian coach Moin Chabani’s team winning 2-0.

It is noteworthy that the return leg will take place on May 25 at 4 PM local time at the Amani International Stadium in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
