Wahbi: "Lawyers Exhausted Me in Legal Discussions until I Developed Diabetes"
In a speech during the opening session of the 32nd Conference of the Association of Bar Associations, Abdellatif Wahbi, the Minister of Justice, emphasized that the discussions and disagreements that recently characterized his relationship with the legal community are healthy and natural.
Wahbi clarified to a crowd of lawyers that the draft law on the legal profession had undergone extensive and lengthy debates between lawyer representatives and the ministerial committee, stating: “We have discussed it extensively in more than 30 meetings.”
He concluded his remarks jokingly, saying: "The advocates are skilled in advocacy and debate; they have exhausted me as I have exhausted them. It seems I will file a lawsuit to claim civil rights, as I have developed diabetes."
