The management office of Wydad Athletic Club has settled on the name of the coach who will lead the team in the Club World Cup.

According to Express TV, the management has decided to trust national coach Ameen Benhachem to guide the team in the upcoming phase, succeeding South African coach Rulani Mokwena, whose situation and financial entitlements are still unresolved.

Given the current constraints of time and the team’s financial situation, which hinder the signing of a new foreign coach 36 days before the team’s first match in the Club World Cup, an official announcement is expected in the coming days regarding the complete technical staff that will work alongside Benhachem in preparation for the upcoming challenges.

A preliminary agreement has also been reached with Zouhair Laaroubi, Wydad’s former goalkeeper and winner of the Champions League in 2017, to join the technical staff as a goalkeeping coach.

Starting next Monday, the Red Team will continue its preparations for this tournament by holding two upcoming friendly matches against Sevilla from Spain and Porto from Portugal, aimed at enhancing player readiness and achieving better integration before entering the global competition.
