A man lost his life on the evening of Monday, May 12, in a tragic traffic accident that occurred in the Zraba area of the Tamsloht municipality, located on the outskirts of Marrakech. His vehicle overturned and fell into a water channel.
According to reports, the accident happened when a light vehicle veered off its path for reasons that remain unclear, resulting in it falling into the waterway. The incident led to the immediate death of the driver at the scene, due to severe injuries.
Upon receiving notifications about the accident, civil protection units rushed to the location, where they retrieved the victim’s body from the channel. This was done in the presence of royal gendarmerie and local authorities, who initiated an on-site investigation under the instructions of the competent public prosecutor to uncover the circumstances and causes of the accident.
Local sources reported that the victim was from the Zagora region, and his body was transferred to the morgue at the regional hospital in Tahanaout, where it will undergo an autopsy in accordance with legal procedures.
This incident raises new questions regarding road safety in the area and the adequacy of conditions to prevent such tragic events.
