Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch chaired a meeting in Rabat to monitor the implementation of the employment sector’s roadmap. This meeting is part of a series of governmental gatherings aimed at accelerating the pace of planned initiatives, enhancing coordination among stakeholders, and activating governance mechanisms.

The meeting discussed central issues in the new employment policy, particularly the integration of vulnerable groups into the job market, especially women, youth, and rural populations. The government aims to reduce job losses in the agricultural sector and expand employment opportunities for women by minimizing barriers related to childcare through enhancing childcare facilities like nurseries.

The focus also extended to reducing school dropouts, with the goal of halving the number of students leaving school. The government seeks to achieve this by expanding the network of preparatory schools and supporting second-chance school programs while enabling students to access vocational training opportunities.

Encouraging youth in rural areas to establish emerging agricultural enterprises was also a focal point of discussion, alongside reviewing ongoing measures to create a nurturing environment for self-initiatives in remote areas.

The Prime Minister emphasized that employment is a national priority and that the roadmap serves as an entry point to activate this priority through tangible actions that restore dignity and ensure stable income for families. He stressed the necessity for coordination among sectors to ensure the effectiveness of government programs.

The roadmap includes eight main initiatives, for which the government has allocated a budget of approximately 15 billion dirhams for implementation.
