Burkina Faso’s Foreign Minister: His Majesty the King has always been a great advocate for South-South cooperation

Karamoko Jean-Marie Traoré, Burkina Faso’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation, and Burkinabé Abroad, stated that His Majesty King Mohammed VI “has always been a great advocate for South-South cooperation.”

Traoré made this remark in a press statement following the reception granted by His Majesty the King to the foreign ministers of the three member countries of the Sahel Alliance (Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso). He highlighted that this commitment was demonstrated through the royal initiative aimed at facilitating access for Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean.

He added, “We had the great honor of being received today by His Majesty the King, may God protect him,” noting that this royal reception was an opportunity to discuss cooperation between the Kingdom and the three countries as well as matters concerning the Sahel Alliance.

The three ministers took this opportunity to heed the valuable advice of “His Majesty the King and to renew the gratitude of the three heads of state” for this open hand extended in favor of Africans.

In a different context, Traoré expressed his admiration for the love that His Majesty the King holds for Africa and Africans, and his complete knowledge of “our countries and the region,” as well as his great willingness to rebuild new relationships with his African brothers.

He concluded by conveying the feelings of friendship and brotherhood from Burkinabé President Captain Ibrahim Traoré to His Majesty the King.
