Azziz Akhannouch, the Prime Minister, arrived in Rome yesterday evening to represent His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, at the funeral ceremony of Pope Francis.
Upon his arrival at the Ciampino military airport, Akhannouch was welcomed by Rjaâ Naji Al-Makawi, the Ambassador of His Majesty to the Vatican, and Youssef Bella, the Ambassador of His Majesty in Rome, alongside a high-ranking representative from the Vatican.
Many heads of state and government are expected to attend the funeral of Pope Francis, which will take place on Saturday morning in St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican.
