Tangier Med: French National of Moroccan Descent Arrested Attempting to Smuggle Over 11,000 Fireworks and Flares

The National Police and Customs officers at the Tangier Med port arrested a 31-year-old French citizen of Moroccan descent on Wednesday evening, who attempted to smuggle 11,165 units of fireworks and flares.

The suspect was apprehended immediately upon arrival on a maritime journey from one of the European ports. The seizure took place during an inspection of a commercial vehicle he was using, which contained the entire haul of 11,165 units of fireworks and flares.

The suspect has been subjected to a judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor’s office, aimed at uncovering all circumstances, details, and backgrounds of this case, as well as identifying any other possible extensions of this criminal activity.
