“Bayt Mal al-Quds” addresses the topic of enhancing knowledge of Moroccan cultural elements in the Levant and the Middle East at the International Book and Publishing Exhibition in Rabat.
In its participation in the 30th edition of the International Book and Publishing Exhibition, the Bayt Mal al-Quds Agency is dedicating a significant area to discuss the reinforcement of knowledge regarding Moroccan cultural elements in the Levant and the Middle East, featuring seminars led by historians and academic researchers from Morocco and Palestine.
The agency announced that, alongside the exhibition activities, it will present a chair for Moroccan studies at Al-Quds University, with the presence of the chair’s head, Dr. Safaa Nasser al-Din, and the scientific committee members who will be appointed on this occasion.
With the support of the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication – Cultural Sector, the agency is setting up a booth at the exhibition covering an area of 50 square meters, which combines elements of Moroccan and Palestinian architecture, highlighted by a model of the Dome of the Rock, symbolizing the emotional bond linking the inhabitants of the farthest Morocco with their brothers in the Levant.
As part of the cultural and intellectual programming for the agency’s participation in this edition, the announcement adds that the “Meeting” hall will hosts the main seminar on April 24 at 3:30 PM, focusing on the topic: “The Moroccan Presence in Jerusalem and Palestine: Towards Reinforcing Knowledge of Moroccan Cultural Elements in the Levant and the Middle East.”
Participants in this seminar will shed light on the legacy left by the historical Moroccan presence in Jerusalem and Palestine and its role in embedding elements of Moroccan culture in the region, based on the values of the Kingdom of Morocco and its civilizational contributions, which are founded on the principles of unity, freedom, justice, and peace, with the participation of Palestinian researchers.
On another note, the “Horizon” hall will host a ceremony on April 26 at 3:30 PM to announce the results of the sixth edition of the “Colors of Jerusalem” award aimed at school students in Morocco and Jerusalem, organized by the agency this year in collaboration with the Regional Academy for Education and Training for the Marrakech-Safi region.
Throughout the exhibition hours, the agency’s booth will feature several activities for both adults and children, along with film screenings and documentaries to introduce visitors to the projects and programs undertaken by the institution in Jerusalem, in line with the instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect him, the Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee.
