The elements of the judicial police in Tangier, in coordination with the General Directorate of National Territorial Surveillance, arrested three individuals aged between 29 and 46 last Saturday, on suspicion of their involvement in a robbery targeting a jewelry store.
The judicial police, supported by forensic technicians, launched their investigations on Friday morning, April 11, following the discovery of a theft at a jewelry shop in the Beni Makada area of Tangier. The thieves accessed the store by creating a hole in the wall of a neighboring building before seizing a significant amount of jewelry.
Intensive investigations conducted by the police led to the identification of the main suspect, who was arrested upon returning from Casablanca. He was found in possession of cash that represented part of the proceeds from the sale of the stolen jewelry. Additionally, searches of his apartment in Tangier resulted in the recovery of approximately ten kilograms of the stolen gold.
In the continued investigation, two other individuals were arrested, including the owner of the vehicle used in the commission of the theft.
The suspects have been placed under police custody pending further investigation overseen by the public prosecutor’s office, aimed at determining all the details and circumstances of this organized crime.
