Wahbi Leads First Training Session for Moroccan National Team Ahead of Friendlies Against Ecuador and Paraguay
Abdelhak Wahbi, the new head coach of the Moroccan national football team, kicked off preparations on Monday evening by conducting the first training session at the Mohammed VI Football Complex. This session is part of a training camp designed for the upcoming friendly matches.
The training lasted about an hour and a half, focusing primarily on physical aspects, especially regaining fitness, while incorporating light ball drills. The atmosphere was marked by discipline and enthusiasm, reflecting the players’ seriousness and their desire to earn the new staff’s trust during this phase.
This camp comes at a time of transition for the team, with the coach aiming to imprint his tactical philosophy and build a cohesive unit, all while maintaining balance within the national lineup.
The “Atlas Lions” will play two friendlies during this camp. The first match will be against Ecuador on Friday, March 27, at the “Metropolitano” stadium in Madrid, starting at 9:15 PM.
The second match will see Morocco face Paraguay on Tuesday, March 31, at the “Stade Bollaert-Delelis” in Lens, France, kicking off at 8 PM.
These matches are crucial as the team prepares for upcoming competitions, particularly the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The Moroccan national team aims to continue its impressive performance and achieve positive results.
