Tarek Skitioui has officially submitted his resignation to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, bringing an end to his tenure with the national teams.

Sources indicate that this decision comes just before the end of his contract, amid differing views on the future of their contractual relationship. Skitioui’s name had been strongly considered to take over the senior national team from coach Walid Regragui, but negotiations fell through due to some details, paving the way for Mohamed Wahbi’s appointment to the technical lead.

During his time with the national teams, Skitioui achieved notable success, including leading the Olympic team to win the bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, as well as securing the title of the African Nations Championship in 2024 and the Arab Cup in 2025.
