Tangier Med and Casablanca Ports Lead Global Connectivity Index
Tangier Med and Casablanca ports top the list of Moroccan ports in the Global Connectivity Index, reaffirming the growing significance of the Kingdom’s port infrastructure in international trade.
Data from the index released by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development highlights that Moroccan ports continue to strengthen their presence in the global maritime transport network, thanks to infrastructure development and increased connections with international shipping lines.
Tangier Med port ranks first among national ports in this index, benefiting from its strategic location at the crossroads of international maritime routes and its advanced logistical capabilities, making it a primary hub for container transit and intercontinental connectivity.
Similarly, Casablanca port ranks high in the same classification, further enhancing its role as a major economic and commercial center for the Kingdom, serving as a key gateway for Moroccan imports and exports.
This progress reflects the dynamics of the port sector in Morocco, supported by significant investments aimed at modernizing and expanding ports to enhance their competitiveness both regionally and internationally.
