Morocco has launched a new strategic project with a budget of approximately 3 million dirhams, aimed at enhancing the “operational availability” of rescue vessels. This initiative seeks to improve the readiness of marine intervention units and their ability to respond swiftly to various emergencies.
This project comes as part of ongoing efforts to update the maritime safety system, focusing on the development of maintenance systems and logistical support to ensure the continuous operation of rescue vessels under optimal technical and operational conditions, particularly in light of increasing challenges related to maritime incidents and unauthorized migration.
The project also includes the adoption of advanced mechanisms to monitor the technical status of marine units, alongside enhancements in spare parts management and repair processes, which aim to reduce downtime and increase the effectiveness of field interventions.
Organizers of this initiative hope to enhance coordination among various stakeholders and implement a proactive approach to managing maritime risks, contributing to the protection of human lives and ensuring navigation safety along Morocco’s coastlines.
This direction emphasizes Morocco’s commitment to investing in its maritime capabilities and enhancing the infrastructure related to rescue operations, aligning with international standards and reinforcing its role as an active partner in maritime safety at the regional level.
