Express TV: Mustafa Filali
Republican Senator David McCormick has officially joined the list of supporters for a bill aimed at assessing and classifying the Polisario Front as a foreign terrorist organization, as confirmed by the official website of the U.S. Congress.
The bill, titled “Classifying the Polisario Front as a Terrorist Organization for 2026,” has garnered increasing support from members of both the Republican and Democratic parties since its official introduction on March 13.
The proposal calls for the U.S. Department of State to prepare a detailed report on allegations of Iran supplying the Polisario Front with drones and surveillance technology. If confirmed, the bill suggests imposing automatic sanctions, including asset freezes and travel bans.
It is noteworthy that McCormick, who represents Pennsylvania, previously held several prominent government positions during President George W. Bush’s administration, including Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs, alongside senior roles in the Department of Commerce and the National Security Council. He is also a prominent business figure in the American economic landscape.
