Dubai Airport Gradually Resumes Flights After Drone Incident
Dubai International Airport resumed some flights gradually from and to several destinations on Monday, following a temporary suspension of operations taken as a precautionary measure.
The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority clarified in a statement released by the Dubai Government Media Office that the resumption of flights is being carried out gradually, urging travelers to check with their airlines for updates regarding their flights.
Earlier, the authority announced a temporary suspension of flights at the airport, as part of precautionary measures to ensure the safety of travelers and staff.
In the same context, the Dubai Government Media Office reported that civil defense teams managed to control a fire that broke out following damage to one of the fuel tanks in the vicinity of the airport, with no injuries recorded.
According to official data, the incident resulted from a drone crashing near the airport, causing damage to one of the fuel tanks in the surrounding area.
For its part, Royal Air Maroc announced a temporary suspension of its flights until the situation becomes clearer and air traffic returns to normal.
