A drone crashed near the Moroccan embassy in Baghdad

On Saturday morning, March 21, 2026, a drone fell in the Mansour district of Iraq’s capital, Baghdad, near the headquarters of the Iraqi intelligence service, prompting a state of heightened security in the area, which also houses several diplomatic missions, including the Moroccan embassy.

According to the Iraqi News Agency, citing the Security Media Cell, the drone crashed at 10:15 AM within the jurisdiction of the Iraqi National Intelligence Service in the Mansour area.

In a brief statement, the head of the Security Media Cell, Saad Maen, confirmed the drone’s crash at the mentioned location but did not disclose further details about the circumstances of the incident or the party responsible for it.

Social media users shared videos showing columns of smoke rising from the vicinity, as security forces were deployed to contain the situation and secure the area.
