The French club Rahilou Sergi has won the International Green March Boxing Cup in its eighth edition for the year 2025.
The event featured participation from 18 associations and included 19 matches, resulting in two gold medals and three silver medals. The Al Bernoussi Boxing Club secured second place with a total of two gold and two silver medals, winning the Mohammed Mufid Award.
This distinguished sports event took place at the covered university boxing hall of the Ben Msik Sports Complex in Casablanca on Saturday, February 7, 2026, under the auspices of the Royal Moroccan Boxing Federation and the Casablanca-Settat Regional Boxing League.
Notable attendees included representatives from local authorities, such as the Secretary General of the Ben Msik District, the Head of the Urban District of Ben Msik, the Chief of the Administrative Division of Al-Hassania 56, and many sports figures. Attendees also included the Vice Presidents of the Royal Moroccan Boxing Federation, Ahmed Bouhafsa and Nabil Helmi, Mustafa Malouki, President of the Casablanca-Settat Boxing League, former world champion Khalid Rahilou, Olympic champions Abderrahim and Mohamed Achik, former technical director of the Moroccan national team Abdelilah Rahilou, representatives from the French club Rahilou Sergi, and Ahmed Brigga, a parliamentary member of the Casablanca Municipal Council, along with the talented artist Hassan El Maghribi.
The event also honored various Moroccan champions who have excelled in numerous competitions, including former world champion Mohamed Rabii, who won gold at the 2015 World Championships in Qatar and bronze at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, world champion Widad Bartal, who won gold at the 2025 Women’s World Championships in Niš, Serbia, world champion Hasna Larti, who claimed bronze at the same event, and world champion Yasmeen Moutaki, who won bronze at the 2024 World Championships in New Delhi, India.
The international event received significant media coverage from national radio and television channels, highlighting its values in fostering citizenship among champions, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Green March spearheaded by the late King Hassan II. It also focused on seeking exposure and experience as essential elements for the development of Moroccan champions.
Moreover, the programmed matches showcased competitive spirit among boxers striving to assert their presence in the national sports scene, especially in bouts that featured champions from the Rahilou Sergi club who left a positive mark in the golden history of the International Green March Boxing Cup, underlining their strong desire to participate in the ninth edition in 2026.
