Minister of Transport and Logistics, Ashraf Abdel-Samad Qiyouh, inaugurated the Lakhyayta II Hub logistics platform yesterday, Wednesday, in the commune of Had Soualem in the Berrechid province. This initiative is part of a project aimed at enhancing the national logistics offerings through a collaborative approach between the public and private sectors.

The project, executed by the La Voie Express Group, spans over 56,000 square meters, creating a modern and integrated infrastructure that responds to the economic transformations within the Casablanca-Settat region. It also aligns with the development of national supply chains.

During the inauguration, Minister Qiyouh emphasized that this project reflects a comprehensive dynamic between the ministry and private stakeholders. He reaffirmed the ministry’s support for developing logistics professions and platforms, whether through zones prepared by the Moroccan Agency for Logistics Activities Development or through private initiatives, in line with royal directives to strengthen this strategic sector since 2010.

The minister explained that developing the logistics sector contributes to bringing distribution chains closer to citizens, reducing urban congestion, controlling final prices, and protecting the environment. He noted that such projects enhance Morocco’s ability to better organize distribution flows.

For his part, the CEO of La Voie Express Group, Munsef Belkhayat, highlighted that the platform provides an additional 70,000 spaces for storing logistics pallets for the national industry, bringing the total number of pallets under management to 500,000. He added that the platform adopts a “comprehensive service” approach that includes shipping, transit, storage, parcel services, and deliveries, thereby ensuring an integrated service for customers.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including the President of the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council, Abdelatif Mezouar, the Director General of the Moroccan Agency for Logistics Activities Development, Ghassan El-Mushrifi, and the Vice President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises, Mehdi El-Tazi, along with several officials and industry stakeholders.

Lakhyayta II Hub benefits from the provisions of the new investment charter, which enhances the local logistics offerings and strengthens the logistics and industrial hub between Lakhyayta and Had Soualem. This dynamic is part of the PME Supply Chain 2025-2029 program, aimed at improving the competitiveness of logistics operators, supporting their digital transformation, and enhancing the sustainability of supply chains.

In summary, this project represents a significant step towards strengthening national logistics infrastructure and developing logistics services, thus supporting economic growth and enhancing Morocco’s competitiveness in the transport and supply sectors.
