Palestinian Journalist to Express TV: Morocco’s Participation in Gaza Force Enhances Palestinian Police Training and Supports Stability

With the official announcement from the Kingdom of Morocco regarding its joining an international multinational force in the Gaza Strip, this step aims to enhance stability, protect civilians, and train Palestinian police forces. The announcement was made during a meeting of the International Peace Council in Washington, which included countries such as Indonesia, Kosovo, Kazakhstan, and Albania, with Egypt and Jordan providing training and coordination programs within the same framework.

Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita stated that Morocco will send police personnel to assist in training the official Palestinian security forces, affirming that the mission of these troops will be non-combat and focused on enhancing the capabilities of the Palestinian police in maintaining order and securing civilians.

In a comment to Express TV, Palestinian journalist Mohammed Dawood considered the presence of international forces, especially Arab ones from Morocco, Egypt, and Jordan, to have a positive role in training the Palestinian police, as long as it remains supportive and training-focused. He noted that this signifies strong historical ties between the Moroccan and Palestinian peoples. Dawood added, “However, if Israel attempts to exploit these forces to create conflict among the components of the Palestinian populace, the consequences could be negative for both sides.”

This Moroccan initiative reflects Rabat’s commitment to contributing to the stability of the region and supporting Arab and international cooperation. It opens the door for exchanging security expertise and enhancing the capabilities of the official Palestinian police, ensuring better management of internal security and reducing tensions in the sector after years of conflict and humanitarian challenges.
