Morocco Participates in the OIC Transport Ministers Conference in Istanbul
On Thursday, the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdel Samad Qiyouh, participated in the second conference of transport ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in Istanbul. The conference brought together representatives from member states to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in transport and connectivity.
Qiyouh heads a Moroccan delegation that includes several ministry officials, along with the Consul General of Morocco in Istanbul, Ibrahim Ajoul. This participation occurs under the theme “Enhancing Transport Connectivity to Deepen Fraternal Ties Among Member States.”
The conference discusses the alignment of transport policies among Islamic countries, strengthening governance of strategic corridors, accelerating digital transformation and ecological transition in the sector, as well as establishing institutional mechanisms to solidify joint cooperation.
Deliberations also encompass the development of transport corridors, supporting regional integration, enhancing infrastructure resilience, and exchanging experiences and building technical capacities among member states.
Organizers assert that strengthening transport network connectivity serves as a fundamental entry point for boosting trade exchanges and achieving sustainable development within the OIC framework, especially amid increasing economic and environmental challenges.
