The regional judicial police in Salé announced on Wednesday, February 11, the arrest of a 37-year-old Turkish national living in Morocco illegally, who was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by Turkish judicial authorities.
Security sources reported that the arrest occurred during a coordinated security operation in Salé, where the suspect’s profile in Interpol’s database revealed that he was sought internationally under a Red Notice based on a request from the National Central Bureau in Ankara, connected to his involvement in a drug trafficking case.
The detainee has been subjected to extradition procedures under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, while the Interpol Rabat office has notified Turkish authorities of the arrest in preparation for legal actions.
This operation reflects Morocco’s commitment to enhancing international cooperation in combating transnational organized crime and pursuing individuals wanted internationally for various judicial reasons.
