The Political Bureau of the National Rally of Independents announced an extraordinary conference in February and reiterated its support for the government.
On Sunday, January 11, 2026, the Political Bureau of the National Rally of Independents held a meeting at its headquarters in Rabat, chaired by Aziz Akhannouch, focusing on the latest developments in the political, social, and economic landscape of the Kingdom, alongside addressing several internal organizational issues of the party.
At the outset of the meeting, Political Bureau members expressed their sincere wishes for the speedy recovery and good health of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God grant him health, and they prayed for his continued well-being. They also extended their warmest congratulations to the king, the royal family, and the Moroccan people on the occasion of the 2976 Amazigh New Year, commending the royal decree that designated the Amazigh New Year as an official national holiday, as well as government efforts to promote the official status of the Amazigh language and enhance its presence in various aspects of public life.
Politically, the Political Bureau praised what it considered significant governmental accomplishments during the current phase, particularly in the economic and social realms. It noted that indicators from national and international institutions reflect the outcomes of the major reform choices undertaken by the government, including the expansion of social protection, support for investment, and the strengthening of social cohesion. In this context, it reaffirmed its support for the Prime Minister and the governing majority until the completion of the constitutional term.
Organizationally, the Political Bureau commended the successful proceedings of the ordinary session of the party’s national council, held on January 10, considering it a reflection of the commitment and discipline that characterize the party’s structures, as well as respect for its organizational dates and the dynamism witnessed within party organizations.
In this context, the Political Bureau announced an extraordinary conference for the party on February 7, 2026, at the Exhibition Center in El Jadida, starting from 4 PM, with nominations for the party presidency opening from January 12 to January 21, as stipulated in the party’s bylaws. It also approved the list of the preparatory committee responsible for preparing for this event.
During the meeting, Mustafa Baitas presented a report on the new publication by the party titled “Path of Achievements,” which is part of a series of reference publications documenting the party’s vision and approaches to political and developmental work. He explained that the book is based on the findings from communication tours organized by the party across various regions of the Kingdom, and from “Discussions of the Independents” in several localities, emphasizing that this work reflects the party’s commitment to establishing an inclusive national project based on equity, equal opportunities, and building the Morocco of the future with a spirit of responsibility.
