Tangier… Arrest of an Individual Involved in Selling African Cup of Nations Tickets on the Black Market
The security authorities in Tangier arrested a man in his thirties over the weekend, suspected of selling tickets for African Cup of Nations matches outside official channels in the vicinity of the Grand Stadium of Tangier.
According to a security source, the suspect was caught in the act attempting to sell tickets for the match between Senegal and Mali on the black market, taking advantage of the immense public interest surrounding this continental football event.
The source noted that the suspect has been placed in police custody as part of the judicial investigation initiated by the relevant authorities to ascertain the circumstances of the case and uncover any potential connections or extensions related to this illegal activity, before being referred to the appropriate public prosecutor’s office.
Subsequently, the public prosecutor’s office decided to pursue the suspect while he is at liberty, pending the completion of the necessary legal procedures.
This operation is part of the proactive efforts by the security services in Tangier to combat the phenomenon of ticket sales on the black market and ensure organized and fair access for fans to stadiums, contributing to the maintenance of public order and the promotion of integrity and sportsmanship values.
