Italy is set to welcome 185 million tourists in 2025, marking an increase of 7.1% compared to 2024.
According to the Italian Ministry of the Interior, based on data from the “Lugiat Web” platform, this rise encompasses various forms of accommodation. The number of tourists in hotel establishments increased by 3%, reaching 104.7 million, up from 101.7 million the previous year.
Conversely, non-hotel accommodations witnessed significant growth, with the number of arrivals rising by 13%, from 71.4 million to 80.6 million tourists in just one year.
This tourism revival is attributed to the continuous rise in both domestic and foreign tourists, with the number of Italian tourists increasing by 5.1%, amounting to 81 million, while the number of foreign tourists rose by 8.7%, reaching 104 million.
This positive performance reflects the recovery of the Italian tourism sector and the restoration of its international appeal, supported by improved tourist offerings and diverse accommodation options, along with a resurgence in travel momentum after years of fluctuations.
