Al-Rachid in Manama: Seeking to Enhance Cultural Cooperation and Preserve Heritage Between Morocco and Bahrain

Mohamed Ould Al-Rachid is seeking to enhance cultural cooperation and preserve heritage between Morocco and Bahrain in Manama.

The President of the Moroccan House of Representatives, Mohamed Ould Al-Rachid, held discussions in Manama on Wednesday with Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmad Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities. The talks focused on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of culture and heritage preservation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

According to a statement from the House of Representatives, the meeting was an opportunity to highlight the progress made by Rabat and Manama in protecting material and intangible heritage and promoting cultural activities, considering culture as a key driver for sustainable development and a promising area for enhancing the joint presence of both countries within the Arab and Islamic spheres and at the international level.

The source added that the discussions addressed prospects for developing bilateral cooperation, particularly regarding legislative frameworks that support culture, as well as the importance of utilizing modern technology, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence to serve culture and the creative economy, contributing to the valuation of cultural heritage and expanding its influence.

This meeting is part of the working visit that the President of the House of Representatives is undertaking to the Kingdom of Bahrain from January 13 to 16, 2026, which includes high-level bilateral meetings aimed at strengthening cooperation and partnership between the legislative institutions of the two countries.

Ould Al-Rachid is accompanied on this visit by Miloud M’Chid, Accountant of the House of Representatives, Mohamed Reda El Hamini, Secretary of the Council, Al-Assad Zarouali, Secretary-General, Mansour Lambarki, Chief of Staff for the President of the House of Representatives, Saad Ghazi, Director of Foreign Relations and Communication, Munir Bakari, Advisor to the President of the House of Representatives, and Mohamed Tayeb El Kouhen, Head of the Multilateral Relations Department.
