Tarek Skitioui Praises Morocco’s Reserves for Their First Win Against Comoros in the Arab Cup
Tarek Skitioui, coach of the Moroccan reserves team, expressed great satisfaction after his team’s victory over Comoros in the opening round of the group stage of the Arab Cup, emphasizing that the match was far from easy.
In his post-match comments, Skitioui stated, “I am happy with this victory. The results from yesterday confirm the competitive difficulty; matches are no longer easy, and no team can be considered small or large. To win the three points, you must be mentally and physically prepared, and our players approached the match with great seriousness.”
The coach added, “We scored three goals in the first half, but in the second half, we faced an opponent who played with four defenders and two in midfield, trying to come back into the game. We were smart and relied on counter-attacks; a clear penalty was also omitted, and we could have scored more goals. The important thing is that we achieved victory in the first match because the beginning is always critical.”
Skitioui concluded by praising his players, noting that they displayed “high spirit, courage, and commitment on the field,” while underscoring that the journey ahead is still long and challenging.
