The El Khouribga Hospital in Kenitra introduces music into the treatment space through an unprecedented initiative.

The El Khouribga Hospital has announced the launch of a new initiative that involves installing a piano in the main hall of the facility. This step aims to enhance the reception conditions and reduce the stress associated with waiting periods, especially for children.

A dedicated area has also been set up within the pediatric department to allow young patients to learn the basics of music and arts during their stay, through targeted activities that take their health conditions into account. This project is a partnership between the CHUIS and Dr. Fanash’s Foundation, marking a first of its kind for regional and local healthcare institutions.

According to the hospital director, Dr. Yassine Hafiani, the initiative aims to add a human dimension to the therapeutic process and provide moments of entertainment and artistic framing that help young patients cope with the anxiety tied to treatment. It also opens the door for a deeper relationship between the child and the world of music, potentially encouraging them to continue this journey beyond the hospital’s walls.
