The length of China’s high-speed railway network has exceeded 50,000 kilometers of operational lines with the inauguration of a new line today, Friday.
According to local media, the new line connects Xi’an and Yanan, which are located in Shaanxi Province in northern China.
The China State Railway Group noted in a statement that the railway network in China has increased by approximately one-third (32 percent) since 2020.
The Xi’an-Yanan route reaches speeds of 350 kilometers per hour, allowing the 299-kilometer journey to be completed in 68 minutes.
China is also funding railway projects abroad as part of an initiative that supports infrastructure projects around the world.
