The Casablanca Stock Exchange opens with a slight negative performance
The Casablanca Stock Exchange began trading on Wednesday with a slight negative performance, as its main index “MASI” recorded a decline of 0.02%, settling at 18,939.35 points, continuing the cautious atmosphere that characterizes market movements at the start of the session.
The “MASI.20” index, which reflects the performance of 20 listed companies, fell by 0.13% to 1,510.88 points, while the “MASI.ESG” index, which features companies with the best sustainability ratings, decreased by 0.07% to rest at 1,266.06 points. The “MASI Mid and Small Cap” index, linked to small and medium enterprises, also saw a drop of 0.26% to 1,837.75 points.
In terms of individual values, the Moroccan Bank for Commerce and Industry topped the declines with a drop of 4.46% to 610 dirhams, followed by CFG Bank (-2.17% to 243.6 dirhams), Dar Essalam Residences (-1.71% to 167.1 dirhams), Med Paper (-1.45% to 26.51 dirhams), and Stroak Industries (-1.26% to 250 dirhams).
On the other hand, some stocks recorded notable increases, led by the Maghreb Cash Company, which rose by 5.01% to 3,964 dirhams, followed by Maghreb Oxygen (+3.69% to 414.95 dirhams), Africa Gas (+2.93% to 4,220 dirhams), Atlantean Sand (+2.43% to 145.45 dirhams), and Involis (+2.36% to 214.95 dirhams).
The “MASI” index had concluded trading yesterday, Tuesday, with a slight increase of 0.01%, reflecting limited fluctuations in market performance at the start of the week.
