Khenifra Hosts the 7th Edition of the International Circus Arts Festival with Global Participation and Renewed Radiance
Khenifra is preparing for a new global celebration of circus arts with the seventh edition of the International Circus Arts Festival organized by the Marco Acrobat Association for Education and Culture on December 5 and 6, 2025, at the city’s cultural complex, supported by the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication. This new edition reflects the cultural dynamism of the region and solidifies Khenifra’s position as an international platform for hosting creativity related to the diverse schools and experiences of circus arts.
This edition features extensive international participation, with artists and troupes from Colombia, Ukraine, Russia, Spain, and Ethiopia, alongside Moroccan names representing the new generation of professionals in this art form. This diversity offers the audience globally themed performances and underscores the organizers’ desire to enhance artistic dialogue and openness to modern circus schools.
Circus enthusiasts will have the opportunity to witness the official competition for the best performance, which stands out as one of the highlights of the program, as participants compete for the festival’s grand prize through acts that combine acrobatic performance, movement techniques, and visual innovation in a space that encourages talent and gives a strong boost to young practitioners.
Linking art to development, the festival will host a scientific seminar titled “Circus as a Field for Cultural Entrepreneurship and Job Opportunities for Youth,” highlighting how to transform talent into a professional project and the role of performing arts in creating new alternatives and economic opportunities. This initiative confirms the organizing association’s awareness of the significance of art in community development and the creation of new career paths.
The program also includes a moment of recognition and gratitude for an exceptional artistic career by honoring Moroccan global artist Mustafa Danjjar, who holds a Guinness record and has accumulated high-level international experience within the most famous circuses around the world, including the Monte Carlo Circus. Danjjar returns to Morocco today to contribute to the development of this art after bringing a complete circus from Spain along with a group of international artists who tour Moroccan cities to promote circus culture.
This event also emphasizes its social aspect, with the Marco Acrobat Association committed to guiding youth towards art and sports as a positive alternative and contributing to combating dangerous phenomena. Through previous editions, the association has successfully trained and integrated youth into the job market related to circus arts, making it a significant cultural player in the region.
With this momentum, the seventh edition aims to present a renewed version that reflects the development the festival has achieved since its inception, confirming its annual presence as a gathering point for circus lovers from both inside Morocco and abroad, and enhancing Khenifra’s image as a city brimming with art and open to global creativity.
