Trump Sends Army Secretary to Kyiv to Present U.S. Peace Plan to Zelensky

U.S. President Donald Trump has dispatched Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll to Kyiv, carrying the peace plan devised by the U.S. administration to end the conflict in Ukraine.

According to a report by Politico, citing an unnamed White House official, the visit came as a surprise following an internal meeting last week, where Trump emphasized the need to expedite the diplomatic mission. Driscoll is set to act as a direct envoy to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his team to present the details of the plan.

The same source noted that the Army Secretary had initially planned to visit Ukraine next month, but political developments accelerated the trip as Washington seeks to activate its new settlement initiative.

According to Politico, Driscoll is expected to later present the contents of the plan to U.S. partners within NATO, in an effort to unify positions on a U.S. proposal that the Trump administration considers a foundation for potential peace negotiations.
