“The Time He Needs” Wins Award at the Tetouan Mediterranean Film Festival

The 30th edition of the Tetouan Mediterranean Film Festival concluded last Saturday in Morocco, awarding the Grand Prize to the film “The Time It Takes,” directed by Italian filmmaker Francesca Comencini.

The Belgian-French film “Soundtrack for a Coup” received the Special Jury Prize, while the jury praised the Moroccan film “The Blue Marsh” by director Dawood Oulad Syed.

In the acting categories, Giovanna Benedetti won Best Actress for her role in the French film “The Kingdom,” directed by Julien Colonna. Meanwhile, Moroccan actor Saad Mufaq was awarded Best Actor for his role in “Nocturnal Sonata,” directed by Abdessalam Kellai.

The film “Vermiglio,” or “Bride of the Mountains,” directed by Italian filmmaker Maura Delpero, won the Critic’s Award named after the late critic Mostafa Mesnawi, while Spanish director Anton Alvarez received the Best Debut Award for his documentary “Guitar of the Flamenco.”

Additionally, the festival honored Spanish actress Aida Folch during the closing ceremony in recognition of her artistic career and cinematic achievements.

The Tetouan Mediterranean Film Festival serves as an important platform for exchanging artistic and cultural experiences among filmmakers from Morocco and the Mediterranean region, reflecting the kingdom’s commitment to supporting the cinematic arts and enhancing its presence on the international stage.
