The Sidi Taybi municipality is preparing to hold an extraordinary session on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at 3:00 PM, at the municipality headquarters. This meeting is expected to be a pivotal moment given the significance and density of the agenda items, which directly impact the residents’ lives.
The agenda includes a review and updating of several municipal decisions, most notably regarding the exploitation of communal property, following a complaint submitted by a citizen concerning the use of part of a property belonging to the municipality. The session will also discuss a request from the regional agency for project execution aimed at the municipality to provide a plot of land for the installation of a medium-voltage power line over an area of 787 square meters. This project is linked to improving the energy infrastructure and enhancing electrical connection services for several neighborhoods.
Additionally, the council will consider setting the conditions for supporting the programs and activities of associations, as well as finalizing the annual grant amount for the National Initiative for Human Development Association, which manages the school transport vehicle for students, including renewing the partnership agreement to ensure the continuation of this vital service.
The session will also review the renewal of the annual grant for the Challenge Association for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, alleviating the burdens it faces in managing school transport for vulnerable groups, as part of the support program from the National Initiative for Human Development to integrate children into educational and health pathways.
The council will also be invited to approve a new agreement with the same association regarding the opening of an additional class in the upcoming term, along with the provision of specialized staff, noting that the project will be directly supervised by the ministry responsible for family, early education, and sports.
In this context, the session will discuss a request from the Ministry of National Education to utilize a sports field belonging to the municipality (Parcel 32) for establishing a temporary play area for preschool children during the construction of a new school unit. There is also another item regarding placing a plot of land at the disposal of the same ministry (Parcel 133) in preparation for launching a new educational project at the beginning of July 2025.
Furthermore, the agenda includes a point concerning the study of a request to acquire a plot of land measuring approximately 15 hectares in the Ouled Ansar area, which could open the door for future investment projects or public facilities.
The upcoming session is expected to witness extensive discussions, given the relevance of the issues at hand and their social and service-oriented nature, particularly those related to school transport, the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities, support for associations, and the enhancement of educational and energy infrastructure. These matters are seen by residents as essential drivers for improving living conditions and supporting local development in Sidi Taybi.
