The General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration, in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation, and Ibn Tofail University in Kenitra, has announced the launch of an undergraduate program in Cinema and Humanities for Integration aimed at inmates holding a diploma of general university studies or equivalent certificates for the academic year 2025/2026.

This new academic program aims to equip beneficiaries with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the fields of cinema and audiovisual professions, including directing, screenwriting, cinematography, and image techniques. The training will be conducted through in-person classes within the university space at the local prison in Salé, in an innovative educational experience unprecedented at the continental and regional levels, combining academic quality with pedagogical support.

The announcement highlighted that this program seeks to develop further in the future to include a master’s degree in the same specialization, thereby opening broader horizons for inmates upon their release and enhancing their social and professional reintegration opportunities.

Applications will be accepted from November 14 to 30, 2025, through a dedicated platform, following the educational regulations and procedures applied across other university paths at the national level, under the supervision of a pedagogical committee from the Faculty of Languages, Arts, and Humanities at Ibn Tofail University.

This program reflects the partnership efforts between the academic and prison sectors and reinforces the idea of education as a bridge for reintegration and building a professional future for individuals on the path to release.
