In a meeting held in Rabat this morning as part of the “Achievement Path” initiative, Fatihah Al-Moudani, the mayor of the capital from the National Rally of Independents party, emphasized that the party “deserves trust and support for its reform efforts impacting the core of local governance.” She noted that the municipality of Rabat has achieved a remarkable increase in its revenues, which rose by 59%, considering this a fruit of the new methodology in managing local affairs.
Al-Moudani asserted that the transformation taking place in Rabat cannot be separated from the royal vision that has reshaped the capital’s image on both continental and international levels. She added that the projects initiated since 2021 were part of a collective effort fostered by the National Rally of Independents, with the contributions of youth and women, whose presence has now become integral to local decision-making.
The mayor highlighted that the city’s developmental vision focuses on modernizing municipal administration, simplifying processes, and enhancing local services, alongside creating an attractive environment for investment that has generated over 30,000 job opportunities through the upgrading of infrastructure and the launch of new commercial and service projects. She also pointed to the renewal of the urban transport fleet and the municipality’s readiness to receive new electric buses equipped with solar charging stations.
According to Al-Moudani, these transformations have solidified Rabat’s status as a prominent cultural capital, having been awarded the title of African Capital of Culture and Islamic World Capital in 2022 and 2023, as well as receiving multiple international accolades. She concluded by confirming the continuation of this momentum through the launch of a new generation of integrated projects, in response to the residents’ expectations and the city’s ambitions.
